Steven (Thor) Sigurdson

Sigurdson began playing cello at 10, and he graduated from Juilliard as on of the final students of Leonard Rose.  After 20 years as an orchestral cellist, he had a successful 7-year career in marketing research which included receiving his MBA from The University of Chicago. Having recently reignited his music career as a cello soloist and chamber musician, he’s currently building a vibrant studio of Suzuki cello and bass students in Ann Arbor, Michigan, while his wife completes her PhD. He’s also planning to execute several business ventures aimed at promoting music education.

Sigurdson is a current member ASTA, MTNA, MENC, MMEA, NAfME, LAO, and AFM. As a veteran recording artist, he’s also a voting member of NARAS, which oversees the Grammys.
